Principal Engineer

Ron leads Manning Civil as founder and principal engineer with a focus in water resources engineering and civil design.

With 15 years of progressive engineering and leadership experience, Ron has built a reputation in water resources consulting as a trusted consultant, colleague, mentor, and manager. While he specializes in open-channel hydraulic modeling, design, and hydrology, his varied engineering and construction experience make him a valuable resource for solving an array of engineering problems. Ron’s passion lies in genuinely connecting with his clients and leveraging his knowledge, professional resources, and connections to help them solve real-world problems.

Ron has worked for several respected water firms in the Mountain West. His experience includes extensive floodplain permitting within the Snake, Boise, Payette, and Weiser River basins for municipal, commercial and private clients. In addition, he has led the Hydraulic engineering, design, & scour analysis for many state & local bridge projects across southern Idaho. With respect to civil design, he has experience in municipal water system design. This experience includes community water systems, well house rebuilds, and sewer lift stations for municipal clients as well as providing general engineering support, design review and grant application assistance for irrigation and flood control districts.

Before relocating to SW Idaho, Ron spent his early career working for a leading hydrology, water hydraulics, and flood risk analysis consulting firm on several high-profile projects for the CA Dept. of Water Resources and the US Army Corps of Engineers – Sacramento District. His work included large scale hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of one of the most complex flood control systems in the country. Ron was also integral in developing custom software to analyze and process this modeling data.

 Director of Operations

Jennifer leads Manning Civil as director of operations with a focus on strategic planning and organizational development.

She brings to Manning Civil over 18 years of progressive professional service and leadership experience across multiple industries including healthcare, government, and private industry.  An accomplished coach, skilled problem solver, and proven servant leader, Jennifer is passionate about connecting with and helping clients fulfill their potential. She is particularly skilled in strategic planning, program development, and process improvement.  Before Manning Civil, Jennifer worked as both an analyst and business consultant supporting leaders and C-suite executives achieve improved clarity and greater business alignment through strategic planning, business process improvement, project management, and strategic organizational development.

Complimentary to her broad business expertise, Jennifer also leverages over a decade of progressive experience in the healthcare industry. As a direct patient care provider, preceptor, and senior leader, she excelled in adapting to highly regulated and dynamic work environments. Further, her ability to effectively communicate & collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams allowed her to successfully share and apply her vast institutional expertise and execute on high value performance and quality improvement initiatives.
